Three Rams named to Junior Men's National Team roster
TORONTO — Alongside women’s volleyball assistant coach Adam Simac, Ryerson’s Xander Ketrzynski (Toronto, Ont.) and Navreet Suhan (Mississauga, Ont.) have been named to Volleyball Canada’s Junior Men’s National Team.
The trio were selected after a recent training camp at the Centre Sportif in Gatineau, Quebec.
Both Simac and Ketrzynski recently returned from the Pan American Cup in Peru in early May after guiding Team Canada to a silver medal.
The team will train together until mid-July when they are set to travel to Manama, Bahrain, to compete in the U21 World Championship from July 18-27, 2019. A traveling roster for the tournament will be announced at a later date, according to Volleyball Canada.
Canada finished eighth at the most recent World Championship, hosted by the Czech Republic in 2017.
Ketrzynski was earned 2019 U SPORTS Rookie of the Year honours after a record-breaking freshman season, while Suhan was named an OUA Second-Team All-Star. The pair joins coach Simac, who served as an assistant at the 2018 U21 Norceca Championships, on this year’s Junior National Team.
