Rams raise over $3500 for Shoot for the Cure initiative
TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams women's basketball team hosted their annual Shoot for the Cure game on January 18, 2019 to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.
The team's online donation page eclipsed $2900 and an in-game bake sale and raffle on Friday helped the team reach a grand total of $3601.
Four Rams student-athletes cut their hair to donate to charity, including basketball players Cara Tiemens, Bronwyn Williams, Emma Fraser, and volleyball player Lindsay Kleuskens.
The Shoot for the Cure initiative is a nation-wide event at all U SPORTS basketball schools and in its 11 years has raised over $1.5 million across all institutions.
Special thanks to Wilson Basketball who provided basketballs with special pink lettering for use during the game.
