No. 7 Rams look for wins against Waterloo, Western
TORONTO - The Ryerson Rams have made the jump from being No. 10 in the country to claiming their spot at No. 7 before taking on the Waterloo Warriors and Western Mustangs at the end of the week.
Last weekend the Rams were able to get back on track after coming away with a win against both Brock and York, making their record 7-1-1 for the season so far.
The Rams will visit the Waterloo Warriors on November 9th at Columbia Icefield. At the Rams home opener just over a month ago, the Warriors became the Rams' first victims to suffer from their high scoring games. The Rams beat the Warriors 10-1. Since then, the Warriors haven't faired much better, sitting with a 2-6-2 record, good for a share of eighth place in the division.
On Saturday, November 10th the Rams will return home to the Mattamy Athletic Centre to face the Western Mustangs for the first time of the season.
The Mustangs (4-4-1) will be a challenge for the Rams considering that last year the Rams were matched up with Western quite evenly. In the regular season the Rams won 5-2 and lost in overtime 4-3. Then, the Rams were put up against the Mustangs again during the first round of OUA playoffs. The Rams put out the Mustangs after a 4-2 win, 5-1 loss, and 6-3 win.
It will be important for the Rams to attain consistent play and score early on against both Waterloo and Western. With both Matt Mistele (Whitby, Ont.) and Mathew Santos (Toronto, Ont.) dominating the OUA in points and goals for another week, the Rams should not have a problem offensively.
Puck drop will be at 7:00 p.m. in Waterloo and 4:15 p.m. on November 10th at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. Follow our Twitter account for live updates and on OUA.tv
