Follis and Ngom named Athletes of the Week
Salad King Athletes of the Week
The first Athlete of the Week is Tanor Ngom (Dakar, Senegal) of the men's soccer team. The second year forward had quite a week, posting a new career-high in points in back-to-back games. On Wednesday night, Ngom netted 17 points to top his previous best of 16 in a game, and added 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the year. He then outdid himself with 24 points on Saturday with an efficient 11-for-14 shooting performance against Algoma. He was one rebound shy of his second double-double, with nine boards. Through three games this season, Ngom ranks third in field goal percentage (69.0%) and sixth in rebounds per game (8.3).
Katherine Follis (Toronto) is our second Athlete of the Week. Making her second and third starts of the season, Follis turned in two solid performances this week as the women's basketball team posted a 2-0 record. On Wednesday night, Follis scored 11 points and grabbed three rebounds in 19 minutes in a win over Guelph. She followed that with a seven point, eight rebound performance on Saturday in 18 minutes in Ryerson's win over Algoma. Follis shot 55% from the floor for the week.
Both student-athletes will receive a $20 gift certificate to Salad King.
