Salhia joined the Rams men's basketball coaching staff at the start of the 2018-19 season.
A Toronto native, Salhia has experience coaching at the high school, U SPORTS, and AAU levels, most recently as a member of the North Kings program. Since 2015, Salhia has helped place eight of his student-athletes at U SPORTS, NCAA and JUCO levels to continue their playing careers and pursue a post-secondary education. As a coach, Salhia has competed across North America at top level tournaments and has won various household leagues and tournaments in the GTA including the CYBL Grade 12 Elite Division and the 2017 Jane and Finch Classic.
Salhia played his U SPORTS career in the OUA with the Lakehead Thunderwolves from 2008-13. As a player, Salhia has four U SPORTS Final 8 appearances (2010-13), earning a U SPORTS silver medal in 2013 and an OUA Wilson Cup championship in 2011.
Salhia led U SPORTS in rebounding per game in 2008-09, offensive rebounding per game in 2009-10, the OUA in blocked shots in 2013, and was among the U SPORTS leaders in those categories throughout his entire playing career. Salhia is a former OUA All-Star and holds the all-time records for Lakehead in rebounding, blocked shots, and double-doubles.
A former three-time Academic All-Canadian, Salhia holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts (History) degree and an Honours Bachelor of Education degree from Lakehead.
